Canadian Armed Forces Virtual Library (CAFVL) Databases
Please note that a new procedure for remote access to CAFVL Databases has been instituted for internet users. This procedure does not apply to users on the Defence Information Network or Defence Wide Area Network, as they automatically have direct access to the databases.
New login procedure. After you access the page at the link above, click on the link in the upper left, “Off Campus? Log in to access full text and more content.” When the login page appears, enter your username. Your username is the barcode that was assigned to you when you registered for remote access. You may leave the password field empty. Once you have logged in, you will be returned to the CAFVL search page. When you perform a search and retrieve some results, you should be able to click on any result that says “Full text online”, and you will be able to access the full text of that article or ebook.
Changing Your Password (PIN)
Access this page.
Click on “Log In” at the top of the page. Once you are logged in, click on “My Account”. Select “Change PIN”. Follow the instructions on screen, and click “Update”. Your PIN is now changed.
If you don't remember your current PIN, click on "Forgot my PIN", and a new page will be opened.
When you click on "Submit", an email message will be sent from libra.sirsidynix.net with instructions to access a similar URL, which will allow you to reset your password.
