Educational and Professional Background
Dr Jensen holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts in History from the University of Manitoba, and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Winnipeg, with a certificate in Business-Government Relations from the University of Manitoba’s Asper School. Dr Jensen’s doctoral dissertation, at the University of Calgary’s Centre for Military and Strategic Studies, examined institutional, cultural, and command factors in the development of operational art in the early years of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Prior to joining the Canadian Forces College in 2020, she was a Fulbright Visiting Fellow at the Johns Hopkins University’s School for Advanced International Studies, a Pre-Doctoral Fellow at the George Washington University’s Elliot School of International Affairs, a Dissertation Fellow at Marine Corps University, and an Adjunct Analyst at RAND Corporation.
Current Research and Projects
Dr Jensen’s research interests involve operational art, campaign planning and military design, military and service culture, and civil-military relations. Her work has been published in edited books and a range of journals, including the Marine Corps University Journal, Parameters, Strategic Studies Quarterly, Journal of Military and Strategic Studies, as well as in a range of RAND Corporation publications.
